We're going to be taking a look at the Curt T connector vehicle wiring harness here for our 2020 Toyota RAV4.Our Curt T connector wiring harness is going to be an excellent option here for our RAV4. It's going to provide us with the standard four pole trailer connector, which is going to be used on most smaller and even some medium duty trailers. Now this four pole connector here is going to have the basic lighting functions such as the stop, turn signals as well as the running light circuit. So our trailer connector is obviously going to be used mostly for pulling a trailer to activate the lights. Hi there, RAV4 owners. Today, on your 2019 Toyota RAV4 we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install CURT's 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness. And this is what our harness is going to look like when it's installed and in the in use position. It drapes down from the inside of the vehicle out the back and it provides you with a 4-pole flat trailer connector that's going to give you all the necessary lighting for your trailer, which includes your left turn signal, right turn signal, tail lamps and brake lamps, so you'll be DOT compliant in all states. On the end of our connector we've got a dust cap to help keep out any dirt and debris to ensure a long lasting connection. And if you've got it in the in use position but you're currently not hooked to your trailer, you can keep it up off the ground by using the dust cap to secure it to the safety chain loop on your hitch.When you're all done using your wiring harness, it's stored inside the vehicle. more

Speaker 1: Today in this 2017 Toyota Rav4 we'll be having a look at and showing you how to install the Tekonsha T1 vehicle wiring harness with a four-pole flat trailer connector, part number 118578.Here's what the wiring looks like installed. As you can see we have an adequate length wiring harness to get next to our hitch on our Rav4. Now the reason you're going to want a four-pole flat wiring harness like this one is so that you can safely and legally tow a trailer by having the necessary lighting functions required by law. The white wire here will provide a ground connection between your Rav4 and your trailer. The brown wire provides the tail light and running lights signal. On that wire we have seven and a half amps of power output, which is more than sufficient to tow a small trailer with several incandescent light bulbs. more

Today in our 2014 Toyota RAV4 we'll be installing Tekonsha T-1 vehicle wiring harness with a four-pole flat trailer connector. Part number 118578. So here's what our old wiring looks like now that it's been installed. As you can see, it's completely hidden inside our vehicle. To gain access to it, just lift up on your spare tire cover, pull it out from down below, close the cover back up on. I'll set it to the side of our latch here for our hatch and then close the hatch on up. Now we're at a good height with length of wire to hook up to our trailer. more

Today, on our 2016 Toyota RAV4 EV, we're going to take a look at, and also show you how to install, the Tow Ready T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with the 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector. Whenever we want to use our wiring, we're just going to open up our cover, pull it out just like this, and we like to let it sit right over the weather stripping here. This is the parts that come with the kit. First of we will go ahead and tell you how it works. What happens is it draws power from controllable power supply in the vehicle through this black wire. Today on this 2014 Toyota Rav 4, we're going to show you part number 56166, the Curt T Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with a four pole flat trailer connector. First off, here's our module right here with our four pole wire that goes up to our four pole end. Our end also comes with a cap to protect it when it's not being used. If you take a look at the other end of the module, we've got our wires that will go up to our taillights. This is a T connector right here. The yellow one is for our left hand side and the green is for the right hand side. There's also a black wire that needs to be connected to our larger wire here that goes to our 12 volt power supply underneath the hood. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2010 Toyota RAV4- Video
Today on our 2010 Toyota RAV4, we'll be installing the Curt T-Connector with the Vehicle Wiring Harness 4-Flat Trailer connector part number C56165. Now to begin our install, we'll go ahead and open up the rear door. We'll remove the rear cargo cover and the rear cargo door. Next we'll remove the rear threshold. We'll use a flat blade screwdriver a trim panel tool to pop the panel up, releasing the fasteners underneath. Then we'll go ahead and remove the secondary cargo cover. more

Today on this 2015 Toyota RAV4, we're going to install part number 118578. This is the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with a 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector from Tow Ready. All right, to install our wire harness we need access to the wiring and it's all going to be inside of the vehicle so go ahead and open the back hatch and remove all floor paneling down to the spare tire. All right, this component needs to be removed out of the way as well. There's two plastic fasteners up on top here. We'll take a flat screwdriver and get them started first and then a trim panel tool works best to get the rest of it out. Then down at the bottom is another fastener. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2001 Toyota RAV4- Video
Today on this 2001 Toyota RAV4, we're going to install part number C55307. This is a Curt T-Connector trailer wiring harness with a floor pull flat. With our floor pulled back out, we'll go ahead and show you how to use it. Pull it out, you can go ahead and put the panel back into place. Then route this to the outside over the door seal here. The door seal's thick enough, it won't hurt anything when we shut the door on it. Set it by the center of the hitch, close the door, and we can go ahead and pull out what we need to go out to our trail. Let's go ahead and open it back up, and when we're not using it, we'll keep it in the compartment. That way it stays safe and not exposed to the elements. First thing we need to do is go ahead and open up the back door and we need to go ahead and loosen up and remove some interior panels. We'll also take our floor panel and we'll go ahead and just rotate towards the front. more

Today, in this 2008 Toyota RAV4, we're going to install part number C56165 from Curt. First thing you do is get inside the back of the vehicle, hold up the back door, and then we need to remove the floor coverings down to the well. Then we remove 2 flat panels on the bottom and 2 side panels on the interior. On the passenger side, we'll have to remove the jack as well. Then we'll go ahead and remove the threshold. We'll pull back the weather seal just a little bit and pry it up, releasing it from the clasp. Now pull it straight up and away. Now we need to loosen up the interior panels. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2011 Toyota RAV4- Video
Today in our 2011 Toyota RAV4, well be installing the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number C56165. Well go ahead and start here by opening up the rear hatch of the vehicle. Well first need to go ahead and remove this carpet here in the rear cargo area. Well then go ahead and take out this cover. We need to go ahead and remove this cover right here as well as this door right here. To do this door, you simply push in on both tabs, and gently pull outward. more

Tow Ready Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2013 Toyota RAV4- Video
Today on our 2013 Toyota Rav4, we will be installing the tow ready T-1 vehicle wiring harness with four poll flat connector part number 118578. To begin our install we will first open up the rear cargo or hatch and then remove the rear cargo liner and spare tire cover. Next we will remove the pocket panel on each side. Next we will remove the drivers side pocket and set it aside for reinstallation later. Now with those out of the way we are ready to go ahead and remove the rear threshold. To remove the rear threshold we will simply get underneath of it and gently pry up on the threshold until it releases the fasteners underneath. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2012 Toyota RAV4- Video
Today on our 2012 Toyota Rav4, well be installing the Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring, part number 118412. Now to being our installation well go ahead and open the rear cargo door where well need to remove the carpet as well as the floor from the cargo area. With that done well remove the rear threshold here. After using a little effort to get the threshold undone, well go ahead and set it off to the side for reinstallation later. We can then go ahead and remove the forward panel here on the floor. With that done, well undo screws holding the forward panel in place where we can then pry it up out of the way, again setting it off to the side for reinstallation later. Well now move onto the side panels. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2011 Toyota RAV4 118412- Video
Today on this 2011 Toyota Rav4, were going to install part number 118412 from Tow Ready. First thing we are going to do is open up the back of the vehicle and get to the interior, we have to remove the threshold and the four coverings. Were also going to loosen up the side panels as well, there will be three fasteners that we have to remove, there will be two bolts and one bolt for the tie down point towards the bottom, and then well use a trim panel tool to help pop the sides away from the body. All right now well go ahead and look for our connection points, the connections points are going to be right behind the taillights, with the small tab we can push so we can remove the connector to the taillight, well put it out here and Ill take it apart and show you where the tab is push down. All right now well go ahead and start installing our T-connector, starting with the T-connector with the yellow wire well plug it into the factory wire harness, well compare them two and put them together and well take the other half and push it back into the taillight. Well take the other T-connector with the green wire and well run it in behind the plastic and over to the other side, well slip it behind the plastic and run it up to the taillight just like we did on the driver side. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2008 Toyota RAV4 C55113- Video
Today in this 2008 Toyota Rav 4 were going to install part number C55113 from Curt. First thing to start off is get inside the vehicle. Were going to remove the floor coverings, the storage covers, the threshold. On both sides were going to remove the trim fasteners and pull out on the trim panels on each side so that way we get access to the taillight wiring harness. Well remove the side panels by loosening some screws and using a pry tool to open them up. With the panels loosened up we can go ahead and start installing our T harness. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2004 Toyota RAV4- Video
Today, on this 2004 Toyota Rav4, we're going to be installing the Tow Ready wiring harness 118389.The first step is to open the back door and gain access to the rear of the vehicle. There is a panel right here on the driver's side that needs to be removed and we'll be removing the interior trim panel to access the tail light wiring. On the inside of the cargo compartment here, there's a little door you take off and you can see the tail light wiring right inside there and once you see the tail light wiring there's a little clip that you have to pop off to be able get it out and make your connections. Next, we'll go ahead and disassemble the panels on the passenger's side. Now we're ready to go ahead and install our wiring harness starting on the passenger's side.First thing to do is disconnect the wires from the vehicle tail light by pushing in the pad and pulling out. And on the passenger's side we'll be connecting the green and red wires in line with that gray and yellow light connector. more

Today we are working on a 2007 Toyota Rav 4. Were going to install a Tow Ready T-One connector, part number 118412. Our first step is accessing the rear cargo area of the vehicle. If you got any cargo liners installed you want to go ahead and remove those now, and we are going to open up the access panel, and we are going to remove the rear threshold. Okay we will go ahead and set that aside for reinstallation later. Now all we need to do is gain access behind the tail lights on both sides. more

Trailer Hitch Wiring Harness - 2001 Toyota RAV4- Video
Today on this 2001 Toyota RAV4 we are going to install part number 118389, a t-one wiring harness. We will be removing the interior panels and trim to install the wiring harness behind the tail lights for the hitch. We will remove screws here, here, and here. Then work your way under the trim panel, and pop it free. This will allow you access behind the taillights. Repeat the same steps on the drivers side. :45 more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2006 Toyota RAV4- Video
Today on this 2006 Toyota RAV4, we are going to be installing wiring harness part number 118412. We are going to start off in the rear cargo area of our RAV4. The ports that we are looking for are located inside the vehicle here, behind both the driver and passenger side panels, basically directly behind the taillight assemblies. So we are going to go ahead and need to remove a few items to gain access to these ports. We are going to start by removing the floor board, along with the cargo area. And then we will be able to pull back the panels and gain access to the plugs. Next I am going to go ahead and pull out the rear threshold piece. And to do that we are just going to need to release the mounting clips that are holding it into place on the top side here. We will be using a basic rivet removal tool and pry up gently to release the clips. With those released, we just want to come to the bottom of it here and we are actually going to lift straight up. Next we will move on to the interior panel and there are a couple of fasteners that are holding it into place, as well as the clips that we had on the rear threshold section. We have the tie-down bolt right here, a second one here, and a regular screw in this recessed hole here. So we want to go ahead and remove all of those and we will go ahead and pull our panel back. Today on this 2009 Toyota RAV4 we are going to be installing wiring harness part number 118412. We are going to start off in the rear cargo area of the RAV4. We are going to need to remove a few items to gain access to these ports. We are going to start by removing the floor board along with the cargo area and then we will be able to pull back the panels and gain access to the plugs. Next I am going to pull out the rear threshold piece and to do that we are going to need to release the mounting clips that are holding it into place on the top side here.
